  • Maria Narodytska, Piano

Like all concert artists, Maria Narodytska plays the works of a vast array of composers, thus requiring her to understand many different periods, styles, and idioms based on the music. What continues to impress all of us here at ABI however is how she virtually inhabits a work in a way that some say makes it seem as if she has been in conversations with each composer prior to studying what they have written.

When asked to describe her approach Narodytska is happy to provide an explanation of her process.

“My main goal is to let the composer speak through my playing. I’m convinced that musicians find the most sincere emotional connection to the music when it touches experiences and emotions in their own lives. One has to feel deeply moved in order to then move something in the hearts and souls of other people, and this is what happens each time I begin working on new repertoire.”
